Save Fort Queenscliff
The Albanese government’s fire sale of 67 defence sites, including Fort Queenscliff, is a national disgrace.
This decision, without any consultation, shows contempt for our heritage, our region and Australia’s defence capability.
Fort Queenscliff is one of Victoria’s most important historic sites and one of the largest and best preserved forts in the country.
Defence Minister Richard Marles’ shocking decision, backed by Corangamite MP Libby Coker, shows a profound lack of respect for our community.
There are many ways this iconic precinct could be opened up to the public through leasehold for tourism, cultural or education purposes, but it must remain in Commonwealth hands.
Together, let’s fight to save Fort Queenscliff.
