Morrison Government commits $4.5 million to Sebastopol Community Hub

The Morrison Liberal Government is committing $4.5 million for a major rebuild of the Sebastopol Community Hub.

Senator for Victoria Sarah Henderson visited the community hub this morning, with Liberal candidate for Ballarat Ben Green, to make the announcement on behalf of the Morrison Government.

“In partnership with the City of Ballarat, this is a very significant investment in this $8.5 million project which will deliver a new community facility, replacing the existing Sebastopol Senior Citizens building which is no longer fit for purpose,” Senator Henderson said.

“The new facility will benefit a range of community groups across multiple age groups and a variety of interests. Groups using the hub will include the Sebastopol Senior Citizens, Ballarat Community Health, Ballarat Regional Industries, McCallum and 1st Sebastopol Girl Guides. There will also be a staged option incorporating kindergarten rooms for early years learning.”

“Liberal candidate for Ballarat Ben Green has been a strong advocate of this project,” Senator Henderson said.

“This vital project supported by the Morrison Liberal Government will allow new community groups to use the hub while supporting existing services to offer their activities in the new building,” Mr Green said.

“Ballarat is one of Australia’s premier regional cities and deserves to have the best of facilities.”

The new centrally located hub is near to other popular services and attractions such as the Men’s Shed, Ballarat Community Health, St. George’s Reserve and a playground and splash park.
