Lights on at Lethbridge recreation reserve

Local athletes from across the Golden Plains region are set to benefit from a major new project to install high quality sports oval lighting, a sub-surface irrigation system including water tanks and pumps utilising potable water and safety lighting at Lethbridge Recreation Reserve.

Senator for Victoria Sarah Henderson helped to officially declare “on” the Lethbridge lighting upgrade following a Rosellas Lethbridge Junior Football Club training session at the reserve.

“In 2019 the Morrison Government made a $100,000 election commitment to light up Lethbridge Recreation Reserve, such a vital facility for the Lethbridge community,” Senator Henderson said.

“Regional sport is the lifeblood of our local communities, and this $100,000 grant through the Community Development Grants Program will support more than 70 junior players to train and play matches in all weather and into the evening.

“The Morrison Government is proud of the many ways it is investing in safer roads and better facilities across the Golden Plains Shire.

Other recent projects delivered include:

  • Victoria Park lighting upgrade at Bannockburn;
  • Bannockburn Heart Playground; and
  • Wall Bridge upgrade at Teesdale.

“With funding support from the Morrison Government, work is continuing on key projects such as the Inverleigh Recreation Reserve upgrade, the Bannockburn Safer Entrance project, the Teesdale Turtle Bend Reserve Upgrade and the Golden Plains Youth Hub in Bannockburn.

“The Morrison Government is delighted to be building safer roads and improved community infrastructure in regional communities including across Golden Plains,” Senator Henderson said.
