Grape news for local wine exporters

A re-elected Morrison Government will support local wineries to export their world-class products around the world, with a $4 million expansion of the Wine Export Grants Program.

Senator for Victoria Sarah Henderson said this program would help bring jobs and investment across world class wine growing country including the Bellarine Peninsula, Surf Coast, Bendigo wine region, Ballarat and Pyrenees wine regions and beyond.

“We have some of Australia’s best wineries in regional Victoria, and this funding will help them find new markets and customers,” Senator Henderson said.

“These grants will help our smaller to medium sized wine producers access the lucrative world wine market by promoting the Aussie product internationally as some of the safest, most sustainable and highest quality wine in the world.”

“We can continue to deliver these vital programs for Corio, Corangamite, Bendigo and Ballarat electorates because of our strong economic management.”

“This is all part of our plan for a strong economy and a stronger future.”

This program provides reimbursements to wine producers for costs associated with promoting their product and connecting to overseas markets.

Previous rounds have helped almost 250 wine producers around Australia to boost their exports and grow their business.

There are over 2,000 wineries across 65 wine regions in Australia and this funding supports Australian small to medium size wine producers in international markets.

Only the Morrison Government has a plan to deliver a strong economy and a stronger future for regional Victorian businesses.
