The member for Corio and Deputy Labor leader Richard Marles needs to make up his mind whether he’s supporting local manufacturing workers and our energy intensive industries or whether he remains captive to ALP left wing climate action zealots, according to Liberal Senator Sarah Henderson
Senator Henderson said that prominent Labor MP Joel Fitzgibbon could not tolerate Labor’s continuing attack on industries which depend on coal and gas, such as mining and energy intensive manufacturing, resigning from the Shadow Ministry declaring that Labor had lost touch with traditional working people.
“Mr Marles and must choose between protecting manufacturing and mining workers or supporting the Labor Left’s climate zealots who want to shut down coal and gas,” Senator Henderson said.
Mr Marles’ constituents won’t forget his declaration that getting rid of thermal coal was a “good thing”.
“Is he backing local workers including at Geelong Refinery or is he selling them out?”
“Corangamite MP Libby Coker, a member of Labor’s socialist left faction, sold out manufacturing workers a long time ago.”
“Only the Morrison Government is committed to sensible job preserving climate policies which are meeting and beating our international obligations.”
“The Morrison Government is on the side of workers which Labor has callously abandoned.”
