#Buylocal and celebrate great local businesses combating COVID-19

I am calling on local businesses to let me know about their efforts to combat the Coronavirus pandemic.

With so many businesses starting up home delivery services, moving on-line or transforming they way they operate, it’s so important we recognise and celebrate their efforts at this very difficult time.

My strong message is #buylocal.

I am asking business owners, their employees or customers to send me a picture of their own story or favourite business so that I can promote these efforts on Instagram.

While the Morrison Government is providing very major support to small and medium businesses including the JobKeeper wage subsidy and the boosting cashflow program (see treasury.gov.au/coronavirus for full details), many businesses are currently being driven by ingenuity and sheer determination not to fail.

I am also calling for our community champions to be recognised, such as frontline health workers, meals on wheels volunteers or our teachers who are working under challenging conditions.

Please send me your picture and story to sarahhendersonmp (Instagram) or via email on senator.henderson@aph.gov.au.

From Alfie’s Café in Waurn Ponds to the General Store in Forrest to the Adelia’s Fine Foods in Ocean Grove, so many businesses are working hard to combat the economic fallout of COVID-19.

At this time, we need to buy local and recognise and celebrate their incredible efforts.
