Ballarat’s Labor MP sinks on funding pledge

Ballarat Labor MP Catherine King needs to explain to the people of Ballarat why she has failed to deliver one dollar in election commitment funding for her electorate.

Today, she travelled to Drysdale near Geelong to announce a multi-million dollar election commitment for the Corangamite electorate but where was her funding pledge for Ballarat?

Ms King has taken her electorate for granted for far too long.  She needs to explain why the Ballarat electorate is not being treated fairly by Labor.

Embarrassingly, Ms King has not published a local media release on her website since May 2020.  This demonstrates a complete lack of interest in the needs and aspirations of Ballarat residents.

As the Patron Senator for Ballarat, I am extremely proud of the many investments the Morrison Liberal Government is delivering for the Ballarat electorate including more than half a billion dollars for the Ballarat rail line, major road upgrades, a new headspace, super fast broadband for Ballarat CBD, numerous community infrastructure projects and $10 million for Sovereign Hill.

Where is Ms King’s commitment to Ballarat’s Link Road, arguably the number one funding priority for the city, and to the many other projects requiring funding?

She is completely missing in action.

The people of Ballarat deserve better from their Labor representative.
