A safer St Leonards with CCTV cameras ready for action

St Leonards will now be a safer community as a result of the installation of CCTV cameras in the main street, funded by a $70,000 Morrison Liberal Government election commitment.

The five CCTV cameras which cover the main shopping strip, the hotel and the foreshore playground will make a substantial difference to community safety in central St Leonards.

Senator for Victoria, Sarah Henderson, joined City of Greater Geelong Acting Mayor, Trent Sullivan, to mark the switch on of the cameras which will be activated this Friday.

“The Morrison Government is proud to be delivering community infrastructure across Corangamite which improves safety, enhances sense of place and meets community need,” Senator Henderson said.

“Our government worked hard with community members to address local crime and safety concerns and I am delighted this CCTV camera upgrade has been delivered.”

“I want to congratulate the entire St Leonards community, especially the Beautification Committee, for its advocacy on this and other projects.”

Another $430,000 has been committed to a St Leonard’s foreshore upgrade by the Morrison Government.

Liberal candidate for Corangamite Stephanie Asher said:

“From the North Bellarine Aquatic and Leisure Centre at Drysdale to safer road projects to sporting ground upgrades, we are delivering for the Bellarine.”

Every community matters. If elected, I am determined to ensure St Leonards gets its fair share of funding.”

Only the Morrison Liberal Government has a real plan to deliver for Corangamite and continue to build a strong economy and a stronger future.
