Staff and students at St Peters School Bendigo North will benefit from $1.4 million in funding from the Morrison Government’s Capital Grants Program to refurbish the library into an Art and Music teaching space and create new general learning areas.
Senator for Victoria Sarah Henderson said the $1.4 million funding injection will enable construction to begin on the new facilities in 2022.
“I am delighted that students and staff at St Peters School Bendigo North are set to benefit from exciting new Art and Music facilities which will really revolutionise the learning environment for so many young people from this area,” Senator Henderson said.
“St Peters has a wonderful school community, and these new facilities will further enhance the learning environment.
“Students and teachers thrive when their schools have modern and up-to-date facilities. That’s why the Morrison Government is proud of the Capital Grants Program, which has helped thousands of schools across the nation to build new and updated infrastructure.
“Our Government is ensuring that every child gets a high-quality education no matter where they go to school. We are providing a record $315.2 billion for all Australian schools between 2018 and 2029.
“We are delivering real, needs-based funding that is matched by national reforms that will drive better results and outcomes, as recommended by David Gonski in the Review to Achieve Educational Excellence in Australian Schools.
“I congratulate St Peters on their successful grant application and look forward to seeing the positive impact these new facilities will have on the school community when construction starts in the new year.”
