Geelong region residents amongst the first to receive COVID-19 vaccine

I am delighted that up to 130 aged care residents at TLC Homestead Estate in Wallington are amongst the first Australians to receive the COVID-19 vaccine from today.

Some 12,000 doses will be administered across Victoria this week in a major milestone in Australia’s battle against the Coronavirus.

University Hospital Geelong will operate as one of 16 national Pfizer vaccination hubs which will roll out the vaccine to key local facilities.

Frontline healthcare workers, hotel quarantine staff and aged care residents and staff will be prioritised in the initial rollout of the vaccine.

There is no greater priority than caring for the health of Australians.
