Childcare centres no place to promote Labor’s divisive Voice

Like classrooms, childcare centres and preschools should be places for education not indoctrination.

No matter Goodstart Early Learning’s corporate position on the Voice, it is inappropriate for the company to be engaging in political activism by displaying Yes posters in its early learning centres.

These posters have the potential to cause confusion in young children which is not in their best interests.

I believe the company should do the right thing and remove this material.

As the Herald Sun reports today, a Perth couple decided to withdraw their four year old son from a Goodstart centre because of its display of Yes posters, compounded by concerns that the child was being shown inappropriate videos about colonisation.

As with all childcare centre operators, Goodstart is heavily subsided by Australian taxpayers.

Like many parents, I am concerned about educators who attempt to impose their personal political agendas on children.

The Opposition is determined to combat political activism and ideological agendas in education settings which undermine parents and compromise a child’s learning and development.

If any parent has experienced these sorts of issues, please email me with your story via the contact page on my website.
