Petition: Fix Corangamite mobile black spots

Mobile phone reception in parts of the Bellarine Peninsula and Armstrong Creek is not good enough.

For too long, mobile network operators such as Telstra and Optus have taken local residents for granted.

While the Morrison Government is continuing to deliver vital funding to fix black spots (see details here)*, construction of new or upgraded mobile base stations requires the agreement of mobile network operators.

Whether you’re running a small business, working from home, studying or an emergency services worker, mobile reception is vital.

If you are impacted by a mobile black spot, please sign my petition.

Your voice matters.

As your strong Liberal voice, I am proud to fight on your behalf for better mobile reception.

Together, we can do this.

Sarah Henderson

Liberal Senator for Victoria

*Between 2007 and 2013, the previous federal Labor government delivered no funding to fix mobile blackspots. Since 2013, the Coalition Government has committed $380 million to the Mobile Black Spot Program (the Program) to invest in telecommunications infrastructure to improve mobile coverage and competition across Australia. The Program is supported by co-contributions from state and local governments, mobile network operators, businesses and local communities, delivering total investment of more than $836 million and more than 1,200 new base stations across Australia.
