Drysdale indoor pool

The Morrison Liberal Government is proudly delivering $10 million for a state-of-the-art 50 metre outdoor heated pool, to be constructed at the Drysdale Sporting Precinct, adjacent to a number of local schools.

Under the leadership of mayor Stephanie Asher, the City of Greater Geelong is contributing $5.45 million.

This $15.45 million pool facility – Stage 1 of the North Bellarine Aquatic Centre – will include change rooms, kiosk, carparking and community lawn.  With the design now completed, construction is scheduled to begin early next year.

This is a wonderful win for the Bellarine including some 3,500 students who attend school in Drysdale.

Regrettably, prior to the last federal election, Labor’s representative in Corangamite, Libby Coker, committed no funding to build a pool at all, demonstrating she was not listening to Bellarine residents. The state Labor Government, on Lisa Neville MP’s watch, has also refused to make any funding contribution.

I am delighted that council is now working on concept designs for a proposed Stage 2 of the North Bellarine Aquatic Centre –  an indoor warm water pool complete with gymnasium, aqua play area and other ancillary health facilities, to be built alongside the outdoor pool.

THIS PETITION calls on the state Labor government to deliver funding for a Stage 2 indoor pool facility – please sign it to show your support.

Working together, we can do this.
