Petition: Labor must fund Drysdale indoor pool
The Morrison Liberal Government is proudly delivering an election commitment of $10 million for stage 1 of a new aquatic facility for the north Bellarine, to be built at the Drysdale sports precinct adjacent to local schools, comprising an outdoor 50 metre heated pool, changerooms and kiosk.
Under the leadership of Mayor Stephanie Asher, the City of Greater Geelong is also making a funding contribution of more than $5 million.
This is a wonderful win for the Bellarine community.
Regrettably, prior to the last federal election Labor’s representative in Corangamite Libby Coker committed no funding to build a pool at all, demonstrating she was not listening to local residents.
The state Labor Government has also declined to make any funding contribution to this facility.
A proposed stage 2 of the aquatic facility would include an indoor warm water program pool, gymnasium and other ancillary health facilities. The Bellarine community deserves no less.
THIS PETITION calls on the state Labor government to deliver funding for a stage 2 indoor pool – please sign it to show your support.
