Communities throughout the Bellarine, now have access to state-of-the-art health services and facilities through a $3 million Government investment.
The extension and refurbishment of the Point Lonsdale – Queenscliff Community Health Care Centre will improve access to primary, allied health, mental health and dental services.
Minister for Health, Greg Hunt said the Government’s contribution to this redevelopment means people throughout the region now have access to a one-stop-shop health facility.
“People who live and visit the Bellarine Peninsula now have quality community health facilities in one location so they don’t have to travel vast distances to access doctors, physiotherapists, dentists and other allied health professionals” Minister Hunt said.
Access to primary health care, which provides early intervention and treatment, helps to prevent and address ill-health, is a priority of the Australian Government.
Additional services include;

- An ambulance bay and treatment room
- Multipurpose rooms and training space for medical students
- Additional space for a range of future services such as podiatrists, physiotherapists, dietitians, dentist and diabetes education services
