The Andrews Labor Government has denied Corangamite and Geelong desperately-needed infrastructure after it was revealed the Victorian Government was the only state or territory government not to submit any initiatives for consideration on Infrastructure Australia’s Priority List in 2018.
“People across Corangamite and the Geelong Region have a right to ask why the Victorian Government is the only state or territory government in Australia to have submitted zero initiatives to Infrastructure Australia in 2018,” Member for Corangamite Sarah Henderson said.
“Communities across Corangamite are sick and tired of Daniel Andrews playing politics with the vital infrastructure they need.”
Federal Minister for Urban Infrastructure and Cities Paul Fletcher said Daniel Andrews had again proven he is more interested in playing politics than working constructively with the Commonwealth to build the vital infrastructure Victoria needs.
“Daniel Andrews was happy to attack the respected independent body Infrastructure Australia recently – complaining there were too few Victorian projects on the Infrastructure Australia Priority List,” Mr Fletcher said.
“But he forgot to mention one vital detail – the list is developed based on submissions from state governments, and for two years the Andrews Labor Government in Victoria has not bothered to submit any initiatives to Infrastructure Australia.
“The other states did the work – the Andrews Government did not.”
