Smart farming investment to yield positives in Bendigo

Farmers in Bendigo will benefit from the third round of the Smart Farms Small Grants program. 113 projects nationally will share in over $5 million funding. Smart Farms Small Grants fund organisations and individuals to undertake sustainable agriculture projects. $18.4 million boost for local councils in Bendigo, Ballarat, Corangamite, Corio and Gorton electorates

Councils in the electorates of Bendigo, Ballarat, Corangamite, Corio and Gorton will receive more than $18 million as part of the Federal Liberal and Nationals Government’s Local Roads and Community Infrastructure Program. Funding boost for local volunteers this National Volunteer Week

The Morrison Government will provide a funding injection of $316,640 for 129 community groups and organisations to support the work of local volunteers in the five patron seats represented by Senator for Victoria Sarah Henderson. Bendigo ratepayers pay the price

I remain deeply concerned about the proposal to sell off council’s Lyttleton Terrace site without adequate transparency or financial governance. While I have no issue with the development of a GovHub for Bendigo, why are Bendigo ratepayers bearing the financial burden of this development including paying an anticipated $2 million a year in rent?
