A huge congratulations to chef Dan Hunter, his wife and business partner Julianne Bagnato and the whole team behind Birregurra restaurant Brae.
Brae was last night named at No. 44 on the World’s Best 50 Restaurants list.
It is the first time that two Victorian restaurants have featured on the prestigious list, the other being Attica in Melbourne at No. 32.
This is an incredible coup for Brae which is set to attract even more national and international tourists to Birregurra for one of the world’s best dining experiences.
Brae is set on a beautiful 30 acre organic farm on Cape Otway Road which is managed using regenerative farming techniques to restore the land.
Tourism is so important in the Corangamite electorate. The world class reputation of Brae – placed at No. 65 on last year’s list – has already proven to be a huge boost to the local economy.
We are so lucky to live in a region which features Australia’s best beaches, the Great Ocean Road, the magnificent forests of the Otway ranges, ancient volcanic plains and now one of the world’s best restaurants.
Thank you Dan, Julianne and your team for giving national and international visitors another reason to spend time in our beautiful electorate of Corangamite.
